Of the Psalms

St. Francis, very familiar with the Scriptures, used few words of his own when composing his Psalms. Francis drew his verses from scattered verses from the Psalms and other Scriptures and did not intend to substitute this Office for the Divine Office for Francis loved the Church and sought to rebuild its Spirit.

When Francis composed his Psalms it was as though he saw from the eyes of his Lord and heard the prayers of his Lord rise up to heaven.

My intention here, will be to provide a commentary on each one of St. Francis' Psalms. I will also provide a modern paraphrase for each one, along side the English text from the Online Library of liberty

I had intended to use Armstrong, & Brady's translation for this, however due to copyright issues I will  paraphrase them myself. - Beginning with Psalm II.
